So for the month of November our local photo club ( Hawke's Bay Photographic Society www.hbps.co.nz ) has had a "photo a day" challenge in the Facebook group, so I thought I would compile my 30 images into a blog post.

I shoot a lot of bad photos from Te Mata Peak, as well as some good ones, but you never see those bad ones, until now

I often get asked about how I create dark / black backgrounds in my macro photos (mainly of flowers) as seen in the shot above, so I thought I would put together a short explanation

This morning in my mailbox (email, that is) was another request for someone wanting to use one of my photos in a publication. With no payment, but with a photo credit.

Oh the nerve.

We spent yesterday on a trip out to White Island in the Bay of Plenty with White Island Tours ( http://www.whiteisland.co.nz ).  White Island is 1 of 2 active volcanoes in New Zealand, the other being Mt Ruapehu, and sits 49km off the coast from Whakatane.  Here are some photos from the trip.
